Tampin Satay

I had been plan to try the Tampin Satay and Char Kuey Tiao long time ago, but always cancel the plan last minutes due to unexpected things happen. Last Friday, I suggested to my girlfriends and they interested, so 3 of us went there even though we don’t really know the direction as my colleague cant remember the exact direction. What we had is only the Google map that showed the road name only and without any building as indicator.

We went there at 1030pm as we thought that we would spend sometime searched for the place. Anyway, we met my ex-manager there (he stay at Tampin) by coincidence and he showed us the direction. We reached the shop at 11pm and its too early, the shop would only open after 12am. So we drove around the Tampin Town while waiting the shop open.

Tampin look like a dead town after 11pm. U can hardly find any entertainment like pub or café there. So we went to the Mamak stall next to the Char Kuey Tiao shop. We had a plate of Nasi Goreng Indonesia, normal friend rice with some fish ball and vegetable.

Sharp at 12am, the boss and his mum reached. They busy arrange the table and set-up the char-grill stove for satay. They didn’t have time to serve the customer. The customers need to take the drinks, cut the cucumber and the Ketupat rice by their own. The boss’s mum in-charge char keuy tiao while the son incharge grill satay.

Since we were all girls, the boss grill the satay for us.I told the boss to grill the chicken satay and he told me that they only had Pork Satay. Ai… feel ashamed … I guess I was the only person order that. This was the first time I ate Pork satay, taste’s not bad, at least my stomach still can accepted it. (for those dunno me, pork is listed in my dislike food list)

We finished all the satay, but the main dish --- Char Kuey Tiao still not on table. I ask the boss’s mum and she told me that she had forgot about it. Damn it, we already waited for 1 hour there and this really burns me up… Luckily she fried for us immediately and the char kuey tiao did not let me down. I guess this is the best Char Kuey Tiao I had in Malacca, nevertheless, the best still go to the Char Kuey Tiao I had in Penang.
