Lion's Club Installation @ Charity Dinner at Equatorial

Last Friday, I was invited to a Charity Dinner ( Lion Club New Committee Installation ) at EQ. Since it was quite a grand function and it also my first time to attend this kind of event, so I had a great makeover.
This was how I looked after the makeover.
Me and my Ji Mui went there sharp on time. As I expected, only one third of the guest reached. It’s a Chinese’s tradition to be late for whatever function. We went in and found that our table being occupied by 4 of unknown guest and caused some of my friends who came a little bit late did not have seat. I felt irritated cause such a big event should have better arrangement. The 4 unknown guests were actually the sponsors and they should be seated at VIP seat.
The events started sharp on 7pm. I didn’t really watch the Installation Ceremony, only concentrated in my dinner and chatted with my friends. The dishes just so so only, but it still sufficient to fill my stomach.
Here are some photo on the night.

After the dinner, our plan to Arena blew-up. I joined my friends’ yum cha at Old Town Coffee. Then, we went for a midnight show at GSC. When my friend and me walked on the street, lots of people stared at us like we are alien (because of our make-up). I guess this kind of situation would not happen if I walked at KL Street.
This make-up caused me half an hour to totally remove it.

Tampin trip

Last Sunday, I went to hiking at Tampin. When we reached the foot of the hill, it’s started to rain and we were forced to change plan.

We went to Air Panas Gadek ( Gadek Hot Spring ).

Inside Gadek Hot Spring.

The water was hot, around 40-60oC. I only dare to soak my leg in the hot spring. I soaked my leg for half an hour already make me sweat like pig, so u can imagine how hot is the water.

After that, we had a shower there, the bathroom was consider clean, however, the room stank out with some kind of smell that made me felt uncomfortable.

Reddish leg after soaked in the hot spring.

We had our dinner at one of the local Chinese restaurant. The foods quite tasty and the price were cheap. We ordered 6 dishes and it only cost RM 118.

Just after the dinner, we went to try a local famous mee – Longkang Mee. My friend said it was named Longkang Mee because last time they sold mee just beside Longkang ( = drain). The mee looked like Wantan Mee, it came with some pork and “ Char Siew” as topping. If you wanna eat Wantan, you needed to order it as side dish. I felt a bit disappointed with the Longkang Mee, it not tasty as described and it’s quite oily.

On the way back, me and Ivy stopped by at Uncle and Aunt Café, we tried the drinks there. I ordered Tiramisu Iced Blended while Ivy tried their Mocca Iced Blended. The appearance of the drinks quite nice, but my Tiramisu IB a bit creamy. Overall, the café impressed me much because of it environment.

A tiring but enjoyable day.

I Love Saturday

I love Saturday, cause only on Saturday I can do the things I like: reading, surfing net, blogging, listening music and of course shopping.

Yeah… I went to shopping again on last Saturday, actually just planned to buy some tops, but end up with something fancy but not really necessary things…

We went to MP (Mahkota Parade), had high tea at “You Yi Dim Sum” before gear up for shopping.

These were what we had for our high tea.

I had Honey Dew Sago and a piece of Chicken Char Siew Pau.

Ivy had Papaya Tong Shui (i forgot the name of this dessert) and a piece of Curry Puff.

Me and Ivy.

There are a lot of fancy cosmetic and skin care products. I get myself a BB cream, sleeping mask and a nail polisher. Almost buy a mascara, but I prefer Maybeline Volume Express, so didn’t buy it. Then, look for the tops that I planned to buy.

We went to Dataran Pahlawan after a long walk at MP. They had a fashion show at the hall.
I took down the show's photo. The guy in grey suit quite handsome.

We had our dinner at Newton Food court. Finally, i able to try the “Taiwan Zhu Cheong Fan” recommended by “Ho Chak” that I had been craved for it sometime. What so special about this Zhu Cheong Fan is the filling contain egg. The “Taiwan Zhu Cheong Fan” looks good, but the taste is not so delicious compare to common Zhu Cheong Fan.

“Taiwan Zhu Cheong Fan” = 台湾猪肠粉

My dinner - Nyonya Laksa, taste normal only.

Later, we went for movie. Initially, we planned to watch “Obsessed”, however, the time is kind of late, we end up watching an unpopular movie that doesn’t have any publicity at Malaysia media. It’s a Japanese movie named “ Dance Subaru”. The story was about the determination of a girl to be a Ballet dancer. The story was much better than “ Transformer” that I watch a day before. I had to admit that I don like robotic and animation movie.

3rd Visit to Pengkalan Balak

A lot of people don’t know that they can see turtle in Melaka, I mean the real turtle, this including me. I only knew it from my friends. It’s actually a Pusat Pengurusan Penyu Padang Kemunting, which is located at Pengkalan Balak. The last time I went there it’s after the turtle laid egg season (laid egg season- April to September), so I miss the chance to see the turtle.

Last week, I paid a visit again and yes, I got the chance to watch the babies’ turtle. I sound like jakun, actually this is not the first time I see turtle. My college is famous with turtle conservation program and you can easily found turtle in my campus. I never know that i can see turtle in East coast of Peninsula Malaysia, what else at my hometown.

Melaka is one of the important place for turtle to lay eggs. It covers from Kuala Linggi to Tanjung Bidara, and Pulau Upeh. The species of turtle that can be seen here is Hawksbill Turtle. Its named by the eagle’s beak-shaped mouth. Hawksbill turtle was named the most beautiful turtle because it has a golden-brown shell.

Hawksbill turtle.

Actually I was late to reach there and the nurture centre almost wanna close gate. Anyway, the PIC was so kind to let me go in to have a look and explain to me the whole process. I was amused when I was given the chance to hold the baby turtle and played with it. The baby turtle was kept in a box after hatched and before they are being let go to the sea. The baby turtle can survive one week without food cause they stored food in their stomach during hatching.

Holding the baby turtle.

It try to crawl from my hand.

I was so lucky that I got a chance to watch the WWF people bury the turtle’s egg. Last, they make a mark there before they put a proper label. The process look easy but it’s actually need some skills.

First, they dig a very deep hole.

Then, they count the quantity of eggs.

The eggs look like the ping pong ball.

After that, they put the eggs in the hole carefully and bury it.

Last, they make a mark there before they put a proper label.

Around 7pm, the PIC prepared to let go the babies turtle. We were given the honor to let go the turtle from the box. According to PIC, the best time to let go the babies turtle is night time. This is because most of the birds already back to their nest and the fish not active at that time. Feel happy to see the turtle back to the place where they from, and feel worry too cause they may eaten by fish, bird or other creature in the sea.

Some turtle crawl very fast, some still in the sleep mode, crawl slowly.

Waves crashing onto beach bring the baby turtle back to the beach.

Saying goodbye to the last baby turtle.

After all the babies turtle back to the sea, its time for me to go back home.

5th day in Pattaya- Bangkok

It was my last day at Bangkok. Feel don wanna wake up in the morning. After pack everything, we checked out and heading to Safari World at Bangkok. The journey was about 2 hours. Everyone was moody and we enjoyed our last day at Bangkok silently.

We watched Cowboy Stunt Show.

Then, we had our buffet lunch inside Safari World.

Before we went to watch Dolphin performance. A lot of people gather here just to watch this.
Guess what... by paying 100 baht, u got 3 chances to throw at the pin. If you hit the pin, the girl would fell into water.
The guy were paying money just to watch this... OMG...

The entrance to watch Dolphin Performance.

I'm look like the red Indian.

Dolphin flying thru the hoop.

Huge white dolphin which consider as rare animal.

Stingray.

After that, we went to the Safari, here we had to sit inside our vehicle and we are not allowed to wheel down our window to avoid being the food of the animals. The Safari is big, however not many plants there, only saw the skinny animals ran on the field, feel like myself at Africa.
No photo to show here cause i'm too lazy to snap photo.

After the Safari ride, we were sent to airport. We had our dinner at Burger King, the soft drink was tasteless and full of gas, and the burger was tasteless as well, what a disappointed dinner.

We only prepared to boarding in the last 15 minutes; again, we were the last person to be on board.

End of trip.
