Hire a maid

Most of the family nowadays with both parent working to support the family expenses..
When they have kids, if they are lucky enough.. their in-law or parent will offer to take care their kids...
Else, they need to hire a nanny or a maid...

Talked about maid...
It's really not cheap to hire a maid...
Deposit 12k... and you need to pay them 1.2 k monthly...
Not only that...
You need to provide meal and place to sleep for them..

I don't know how is the other family treat their maid...
But I think the maid in my SIL house is so lucky...
She sleeps til 730am daily...
After wake up, she will has a cup of coffee with biscuit or cake...
Then she will clean the baby's bottle and mop the floor..
Once the kid wake up, she will handle the kid, bath her and feed her..
Accompany her do some kid 's activities..

Lunch time my MIL will ask her to heat up the leftover meal from yesterday for lunch...
As my MIL normally didn't cook during lunch and she will eat bread as brunch...
If there is no rice available, MIL will ask her cook some mee or light meal for herself...
About 4pm, she will has another tea break...

What the maid need to do is just clean the house and wash clothes (with washing machine)..
And accompany the kid...
Dinner will be prepared by my MIL, and she will cook 3 dish + 1 soup..
The maid will eat the same food as us...
She really has a good appetite, she will top up her rice normally...

Night time basically she will need to wash all the plate and bowl....
After that, she can rest (normally she joins my MIL watch some drama)
She sleeps with my MIL in the aircond room...

I just read a news recently on how the maid being abused by only given 1 meal per day and sleep for 2 hrs...So pity the maid...
They left their hometown and their family just to earn more money for their family...
They shall not deserve to be tortured...
As long as they are hardworking and really help us in the daily chores...
We should treat them as part of the family...

Okay... me seems like talk too much liao..
That's all for the maid story.

Thought to walk around the NTU compound and take more photos...
End up be my brother "camerawoman"...

Dunno how is the Malaysia Private University compare to NTU...
I'm graduated from local university, and I can see the big different between the 2 university..
We don't have "powerbank" as goodies bag..
And we don't have buffet lunch/ dinner with great cheese cake after the graduation ceremony...

A photo of mine :)

Lots of people asking me why I can slim down so fast...
My baby is my secret recipe... hehe... will share about it later...

Homemade Chocolate Swiss Roll Cake

It's Malaysia public holiday....
4 days staying at home taking care baby...
To prevent me from bored to the max...
I decided to learn bake cake...
This is my first attempt to bake Swiss roll cake....

All the ingredients ready: egg, flour, sugar, cocoa powder, whipping cream, vanilla essence...
So I started with the frosting cream...
The instruction is to use hand mixer and whip the cream until stiff...
So I ma keep beating without knowing how stiff is stiff... @@
End up the whipping cream become watery and can not be use...
Alternative.. I change to butter frosting.... sigh...

Then, I started to make the cake...
Beat the egg yolk until creamy...
Put aside, beat the egg white until stiff, add the sugar gradually....
After that, mixed the egg yolk & egg white together, plus the dry mixture ( flour + cocoa powder)..
Last, transferred  to the pan and bake in preheat oven with 200 deg C for 10 minutes...

Everything done, waiting my cake to be ready...
" Ding", oven ringed..
Excited... Cool down the cake, then spread the cream frosting and i'm gonna rolled it..

Oops!!! The cake cracked while I roll it and it become like this.

I guess i'm adding too much flour...
Ok.. declare 1st attempt failed!

After You

As promised, a special post for the best dessert I ever had in Bangkok.
Much much better than the toast that I had previously in Shanghai...

"After You" is located inside the Siam Paragon...
This place was so famous and a lot of bloggers had mentioned it...
It's a must place go in Bangkok...
We went on Sunday, lots of local people enjoy their tea break at there as well...
We queue up for more than half an hour only get the seat... :(

They have a variety flavour of the toast...
We random picked 2..
Plus one the monthly recommended dessert by the cafe...

Here are the famous one...
Shibuya Honey Toast...
Pour some honey, mix with some ice cream, and scoop a mouthful of toast to your mouth...
Oh... it's so nice

Strawberry chocolate toast

I'm not a fan of strawberry... so honey toast still the best...

These was the "dessert of the month"...
I cant recalled the name of it..
So much chocolate!!!

I bet the chocolate lover shall not missed this...

That's all for the Bangkok update...
